Dr Felipe Londono
Principal GP
Dr Londono studied medicine in Colombia and worked, for 5 years as a GP in Bogota. He re-locate to Adelaide in 2008, and there, he obtained a master’s degree in International Development at Flinders University School of Public Health.
Dr Londono maintained his active interest in General Practice since commencing medical practice in QLD in 2011, He also achieved advanced training in skin cancer assessment and treatment. Dr Londono has obtained a RACGP fellowship thanks to his dedicated study in general practice.
In 2021, an opportunity arised for him to service the Toowoomba age care facilities as the principal GP and founder of The Better Age. Dr Londono is committed to providing better and more accessible GP services to the local community.
Dr Tamara Johansen (Contractor GP)
BVSc MBBS CWH FRACGP
Dr Johansen grew up in Toowoomba then studied Veterinary Science at Sydney University. She practised as a vet for five years in Brisbane before deciding to study medicine.
Dr Tamara graduated from Griffith University in 2013 where she was awarded the Rural Doctors Association of Queensland student prize. Tamara subsequently spent three years at Toowoomba Hospital before moving to General Practice. She holds the Royal Australian College of General Practitioner (RACGP) Fellowship and the Royal Australian College of Obstetricians & Gynaecologist’s Certificate in Women’s Health (RANZCOG CWH). She also has a special interest in skin cancer.
Dr Tamara joined The Better Age group in July 2024 as an independent contractor as she is passionate about giving better medical care, autonomy and support to the elderly who live in our residential aged care homes. She currently has two nursing home clinics – Bluecare Toowoomba and Salem Rest Home Toowoomba.
Tamara is grateful to have a supportive husband and has three very handsome boys. In her spare time she enjoys time with her pets, playing the piano, violin and guitar and volunteering as a Board Member for the TAFEA Health Clinic in Vanuatu.
Meng Yang
Clinical Nurse Consultant and Service Manager
Meng studied and completed her Nursing and Health Sciences double bachelor’s degree at Adelaide Flinders University in 2008. In 2011, she also obtained a Master degree in International Development at Flinders University School of Public Health.
Meng is passionate about caring for others in need. With over 15 years of experience working as a Registered Nurse in Australia, her knowledge in nursing clinical practice covers both acute hospital care and long-term residential care.
In 2022, Meng completed her Master of Science in Advanced Research of Aged Care Nursing, She then obtained the opportunity to become the Co-founder and Service Manager of The Better Age. Working alongside Dr Londono, Meng is committed to providing comprehensive nursing practice as part of the GP service for aged care residents.
Meredith Barry (Contractor RN)
Clinical Nurse / Service Link Nurse
In 2007, Meredith started her journey into aged care as a Personal carer. It was there she decided that nursing was the career She wanted to pursue. In 2014, Meredith started her nursing career as a Registered Nurse and has not looked back. Aged care and looking after the elderly have always been a passion for Meredith. In 2022, Meredith joined The Better Aged team to continue her passion.
Dail Bond (Contractor RN)
Clinical Nurse / Service Link Nurse
With 20 years of nursing experience, I started my career as an enrolled nurse and then went on to do my degree. Overall, I have had a variety of nursing roles in acute care, rural and remote and aged care. I spent nearly 3 years as a care manager of a large, aged care facility strengthening my skills and love of this area. I have a passion for ensuring that aged care clients are heard and seen for the amazing individuals that they are and have recently joined The Better Age team to continue this. I have a special interest in Palliative care and Dementia Care.
